catamaran to isla mujeres and snorkeling. free cervezas on the boat. it seemed to be a constant theme.
my pina chocolada
these beach beds lined the pool and the beach. thanks to swine flu, we got one every single day.
private beach we snuck into instead of shopping at the american mall. people like to go topless here.
view from our balcony.
matt being the king of the world i guess, just a more relaxed king of the world.
That's right, we are back from Cancun, and our Spanish is better than ever. I realize now that I am married, along with receiving food assignments for family parties, I now have to keep up a blog. Although Adrianne gave me a camera, most of the pictures we took are shots of ourselves at arms length away with a little beach scenery in the background. Not super thrilling for a blog, but hey, I am new.
Highlights:
-the food was amazing. we had six restaurants to choose from all on the hotel grounds. one, le chic, a fusion restaurant, had 8 courses. THIS i wish i had a picture of.
-we played beach volleyball 2 on 2 with some of the hotel "entertainment staff."
-we got to take a catamaran to isla mujeres where we went snorkeling and i haggled 2 hand made plates for quite a bargain. i couldn't tell if matt was scared of me after that or proud.
-we enjoyed strawberry daiquiris, mango slush, and my favorite--pina chocolada (a pina colada w/ hershey's syrup) in the pool and on the beach. no that is not a local drink, i just like chocolate syrup in almost anything.
-we snuck onto the most beautiful beach we've ever seen during our "shopping trip" where the bus dropped us off at a high end mall. We were expecting flea market, so we crossed the street, went through a hotel lobby, stole some towels, and got super sun-burnt instead.
-we got "sky massages" on the beach for free as a reward for listening to a time-share presentation given by former stand-up comedian, Al.
lowlights:
-we had to come home
-i think i got stung by a jellyfish
-pina chocoladas made me sick almost every time i drank one (which did not decrease the number of times i drank them)
-we were both super sun burned for our massages. oooowww
undecided:
-many many drunk people (mostly british). I can't decide if it was super awesome to watch the domestic dispute between the couple we had watched marry on the beach two days before, or the guy passed out on a beach bed for over six hours, or the constant harrassment for ordering "birgin!?! Birgin?!" (meaning virgin drinks), or if it was just really sad.
We had the best time ever, and if you can believe it, actually were super excited to get home and start setting up our over-crowded one bedroom apartment together. so far matt getting hiccups abnormally often is the hardest problem I've had to deal with in my three weeks of marriage. Lucky girl :)

i think it's payback for all the times i had to share a room with you and you had hiccups :). i'm glad you had fun and hope you keep up your blog!
ReplyDeleteha ha I thought that too! Sounds like it was amazing. I wish we lived nearby so we could decorate your apartment together!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again! Cancun looks amazing! We also got REALLY sun burned on our honeymoon, not so fun. Once you get settled, let's do Stir Fresh!
ReplyDeleteHey we had a lot of fun last weekend. Lets loose some money together again soon! Keep up the blogging.
ReplyDeleteHooray! Jamie's a Mrs. And a blogger. I'm so sad that I missed the wedding, but we need to get together next time we're in San Diego.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you haven't noticed, ALL of our pictures are always taken from an awkward arm held 2 feet away from our faces. No big deal.
