matt and i have a place to stay in L.A. since his family moved there (/here--i am sitting in their house now). We've done lots of cool stuff like hit up hollywood, the rose parade, radiohead...but nothing was quite as exciting as my trip to the fashion district today. It's like 90 square blocks of fabric city. i am slow, so i only had time to go in about four or five of the billions of stores lining the streets. i had to buy a zipper at joanne's the other day... FIVE DOLLARS! I got several here for under $.30 each. it was raining so i think that kept some of the crowds away and allowed me to barter for better deals. i got some cute fabric and some good ideas for future projects. Hopefully this trip will be the first of many.
